Privacy policy
Vushi records conversations you choose to record. This page says what it collects, where that goes, who can see it, and how you get it deleted. Vushi is in private beta, run by one person (the operator, [email protected]).
What Vushi collects
- Audio from your phone’s microphones, or from a Pocket recorder you pair, only while you (or the automatic conversation recording you switched on) record.
- Transcripts and what is derived from them: speaker labels and the names you give speakers, titles, summaries, action items.
- Contacts, only when you use the feature that links a speaker to a person in your contacts: the app reads the contacts on your phone to match names and, if you ask it to, saves a new contact.
- Google account: the address of the account you connect, and Google’s permission to create and read the files Vushi itself puts in your Drive (scope
drive.file). Vushi cannot see your other Drive files. - Technical: a push-notification token so the service can tell the app a transcript is ready.
Where it goes
- Your Google Drive. The app uploads recordings to a folder in your Drive. Results (transcript, summary) are written back to the same folder.
- The Vushi server. The service reads the files from your Drive and processes them on its own computers: transcription, telling speakers apart, recognising voices you have named. Audio is processed there and not given to others for these steps.
- Cloud AI providers, for text and short clips. To write titles, summaries, action items and name suggestions, the transcript text, and for titles up to a few one-minute audio clips of a recording, may be sent to the API of Google (Gemini) or Anthropic (Claude). They process it to answer the request. Nothing else is sent, and nothing is sent for advertising.
- Google (sign-in and Drive) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications) as the platforms the app runs on.
Vushi does not sell data, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train any model. People other than the operator do not read your data unless you ask for help, or it is needed to keep the service secure.
Google user data
Vushi’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data from Google is used only to provide the features described here.
Other people in your recordings
A recording can capture people who did not install Vushi. Record only where you may: laws on recording conversations differ by country and state, and many require the consent of the people recorded. You are responsible for that. Voice profiles are made only for speakers you name.
How long it is kept, and deleting it
- Your recordings and results stay in your Drive until you delete them there. Deleting a file in Drive removes it from your account; the service’s own copies are removed when you ask.
- To have everything the service holds about you deleted (copies of recordings, transcripts, voice profiles, names), write to [email protected] from the connected Google address. It is done within 30 days and confirmed to you.
- You can also disconnect Vushi at myaccount.google.com/permissions at any time.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. The service runs on the operator’s own hardware; access is limited to the operator.
Children
Vushi is not for people under 16.
